Oops, I almost forgot....

Sometimes, I take so many pictures that I forget to download them on a regular basis. Here are some great pictures from last weekend at the beach. The weekend was filled with a few rain showers and a few sun breaks, so we found activities that was appropriate for it all.

These were some of the activities we did when the weather was "not so good."

Maya had a great time in the arcade. Check out her hand of the gear shift. She kept saying, "mommy shift." She must have learned that from me. It won't be long until she can reach the pedals or better yet drive a real car!!

Maya very serious.

On the merry-go-round with daddy. This was the first time that she picked an animal that moved up and down.

Cousin Rileigh had a great time on the merry-go-round too.

On Sunday the weather was beautiful and we got to spend a lot of time outside. Here are some great pictures of us feeding the seagulls.
Instead of Maya throwing the bread to the seagulls, she decided to eat it! That bread that you see in her right hand, your right.....it was eaten by Miss Maya.

We were afraid that a seagull was going to nip at Maya's hand if she just held the bread, so daddy had to pick her up. She now just got to watch everyone else feed the seagulls.

It was exciting to feed the seagulls with Papa and Rileigh, but it was also a little nerve racking. I have never seen so many fly over head. Good thing nobody walked away with bird poop on them!

We then walked on the beach and had a great time.
Rileigh gave her dog Cocoa a nice workout on the beach.

Ever since we got home, Maya has not stopped talking about feeding the seagulls with Papa. This may end up being a regular "event" that we do. Can't wait for the next time we head to the beach!

Our shoes were made for walking!

Last Saturday, we braved the cold and walked in the March of Dimes-March for babies. We walked in honor of Maya's newest cousins Emily and Ellery. We had a really good time and look forward in walking next year (hopefully the weather will be a little bit warmer!) I am sorry that a few of the pictures are blurry. I was trying to walk and take pictures at the same time!!

Stewart walking with my mom and sister.

Emily and Ellery with their mommy Heather and both grandma's. The grandma's pushed the stroller together the whole time! It was really cute to watch.

Even though Maya doesn't look too happy, she never once asked to get out. We had gotten up early and maybe she was just cold and tired?!

My mom pushing Maya in her stroller. Thank goodness for balloons....it kept Maya occupied for the remainder of the walk.

Here is Emily and Ellery. No smiles from them either? Was it that they were over stimulated, tired, bored, or hungry? Probably all four!

I wasn't going to post this picture, due to Maya picking her nose, but this is one of her newest tricks. Plus, it is a good picture of Stewart and I. I am not sure who taught her to do this, but she is really good at it. When she is picking her nose, she will say "booger in nose." Sometimes she will stick a finger in each nostril at the same time!! Lovely!! What can I say??? I feel like the more I tell her not to pick her nose and to keep her fingers out of her nose, the more she does it. Oh well.

Here we are posing for one last picture at the finish line. All things considered, we only lost one sippy cup and a blue balloon along the route. Not too bad, huh?

Keep the nice weather coming...

Last weekend was warm and sunny. We had a chance to wash our deck, plant our veggie garden, and get our backyard organized (picnic table out, swing hung up, bar-b-que cleaned and hammock put together) and enjoyed some fun time outside. Even though we were busy outside, we made time to buy Maya her new swimsuit.

Trying on her new swimsuit. Even though she is not smiling....she did like it. When I asked her if she wanted to take off the swimsuit, she said "swimsuit on."

A view from the backside.

Maya running back into the kitchen from getting her hat. She knows that we don't go outside without one on! She came back yelling "hat on Maya."

Sitting in her new pool with water in it for the first time. When daddy put the balls in the pool, she said "Maya pool."

She had the best time "patting" and "stirring" the water!

When I asked Maya what she was doing, she said "hands in water." She also said, "dada in pool." You can see the way daddy got in the pool. Daddy said, "feet in water" and Maya seemed to be ok with that.

On our second day of playing in the pool, the water was so cold that Maya liked sitting on my legs. When daddy asked Maya why she was sitting on mommy's legs, she said "burr..water cold."

Maya liked to stand up in the pool and walk around (circle time to Maya). When she stood and we asked if she was ready to get out, she just smiled, sat back down and then stood up a second later. (We think this will be a funny game to her).

Maya took a water break while sitting on the hammock with me. When she sat on the hammock, she said "mommy hold Maya's hand." Those are the special kind of moments that melt my heart!

I dare you not to smile...

So, what do you get when you mix Maya with a new life jacket, new pink aqua socks, a new purple kiddie pool, last years sun hat and a long sleeve onsie????

One adorable little girl!

Man, I tell you....kids are so darn funny!!

Happy Friday

TGIF!! It has been a tough week around here. Daddy was away for a few days on business and Maya was sick with fevers, a runny nose and a crazy cough. Hopefully the weekend will be good-the weather is supposed to be great, daddy is home and Maya is hopefully on the mend! What could start a weekend better than this picture from this morning......

"What is the matter mom?" "You say that I look funny?" She loves her new rain boots. It is crazy that she wants to wear them all the time! I bet that she would like to wear them to bed if I would let her. I am not sure why she likes to wear them on the wrong feet. It must not bother her.

TULIP TIME!

Today, was the day that we ended up at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. It rained yesterday afternoon and last night, but when we woke up this morning, and it wasn't raining so we decided to go. We haven't had too much sunshine here, so we knew that the fields were not going to be in the "wow" stages. We also knew that the tulip fields were going to be wet and muddy, but I was prepared. I brought some plastic bags to put on Maya's shoes, to keep them dry and clean. She wasn't a big fan of us putting them on her, but it was better than not doing it at all!

The three of us in the middle of the tulip fields.

Here are those bags I was talking about....check them out! Maya wasn't interested in the tulips, she just loved pulling the stakes out of the dirt with the name of the tulips on them.

Maya....our flower child (who really didn't like posing for this picture!)

Maya and I in the middle of the yellow tulips. (Maya was more interested in watching the tractors drive by, then to have her picture taken by daddy.)

Now, Maya is having fun!! Trying this shoe on was a little different then trying on mommy and daddy's shoes on at home!

Daddy and Maya in the red tulips. The colors were absolutely beautiful!

Maya in the big yellow wooden shoe. Maya called it her row boat!

Daddy and Maya in the big yellow wooden shoe.

Maya on the horse tire swing. These swings were awesome. Stewart was about ready to ask where he could get one!

After walking around and playing for almost two hours, it was time to head home to get Maya down for a nap. But before we could get on the freeway, I had to make a short stop at the outlet mall. While I did a little shopping (Oshkosh and Carters), Stewart entertained Maya outside. We were only two minutes away from home when Maya decided to close her eyes and fall asleep in the car. No worries....I was able to carry her in and she slept like a log for over two hours!

If you haven't been, it is a great place to go. There is so much for kids to see and do there. We had sunshine this afternoon and we are supposed to have more sun tomorrow. Hopefully in the next day or two the fields will be the "wow" stages and your pictures will come out better than ours.

A wonderful spring break! Why did it have to end?

Cousin Rileigh had last week off for Spring break and we took advantage of getting Maya and her together. They absolutely love hanging out with each other. This is a recap of what took place........

LAST SUNDAY EVENING:
We had dinner at my parents house. After dinner, Rileigh challenged Uncle Stewart to a game of yahtzee. Maya was very patient just watching until------
she thought it was her turn.

The game all came down to Stewart's last roll. In the end, he needed a yahtzee to win. Guess what? He rolled a yahtzee...unbelievable! Even though Rileigh didn't win, she still had a good time.

ON TUESDAY:
Auntie Jen brought Rileigh over to our house to play with Maya.
Rileigh asked Maya what she wanted to do. Maya said, "slide downstairs." They went downstairs, but ended up playing Row Boat. That means Maya gets in a laundry basket and someone pushes her around. Rileigh had no idea that she would end up doing so much work! Pushing Maya around is a real workout! (If I can say so myself, this is an adorable picture!)

ON FRIDAY:
My mom and I took Rileigh and Maya to another indoor park to burn some energy.
Maya played with the doll house. She kept hitting the door saying, "knock, knock."

When I knocked on the window, she opened the shutters and said, "hello momma."

While I was playing with Maya at the doll house. Mom was watching Rileigh on the big trampoline. Check out the height she was getting!

Then Maya saw that Rileigh was jumping and she wanted a turn. Rileigh helped Maya out. For a short time, I think Maya was a little overwhelmed.

But, it didn't take long until Maya was having the time of her life. We almost had to pry her off! When we were leaving she said, "more jumping with Rileigh."

THEN ON SATURDAY:
Uncle Rob and Rileigh met us at OMSI.
Uncle Rob didn't believe Stewart and I, when we told him that her favorite thing to do these days is wash hands. While all of us where playing in the discovery room, Maya and Uncle Robbie were washing hands. Honestly, she must have been there for over ten minutes! We kept hearing her say, "more soap, wash hands." Uncle Rob finally had to say, "enough, your hands are very clean!" We all just kind of laughed.

After playing and having a fun time, it was time to eat and then go home. Even though Maya has an animal cracker in her mouth, this is still a cute picture. On the car ride home, Maya said, "bye, bye Uncle Robbie, bye, bye, Rileigh."

Thanks Rob for letting us spend so much time with Rileigh this past week. We had a GREAT time together. It just makes Stewart and I sad to know that Maya's other first cousins all live on the East Coast and don't get to see them that often. We miss you Hannah, Em and David! Hope we get to see you guys soon.
